About
I am a retired school teacher. I taught mostly Texas, American, and World History. I also coached football, basketball, track, baseball, and volleyball. I was voted VFW Teacher of the Year twice. I served for 31 years before I retired. For the last 3 years, I have been the president of the Rusk County chapter of the Texas Retired Teacher Association. I also retired from the Army. I did 4 years active duty, 19 years in the National Guard, and 9 years in the Texas State Guard. I went in as a private and retired as a first sergeant. I had 3 overseas tours in Germany, one in Egypt, and one in Iraq. I did 19 years in the infantry, 2 in the cavalry, and 9 in civil affairs. The 1st Cavalry Division and 36th Infantry Division are two of my combat patches. I am now a pastor of 2 Methodist churches in East Texas. I am currently an ordained elder in the Global Methodist Church and am working on my PhD at Louisiana Baptist University. I finished my Methodist classes at Baylor University and got my master's degree at Texas Baptist Institute. I used my GI Bill to go to college and have been preaching since 2014. I was the chaplain for the Priory of St. Helena of OMSDT and was a Knight Lieutenant.
